A chance accident between the car and a truck driven by Priya Chopra (Rani Mukherjee) and Raj Mathur (Shahrukh Khan) leads to romance.Raj and Priya come from two different strata of society. While Raj owns a small-time transport business and belongs to the economically middle class section of society, Priya belongs to the affluent class and is on the road to becoming a famous fashion designer.However, Priya is already engaged to be married to Sameer (Jas Arora). Her heart tells her that Raj is her soulmate, and so she decides to marry Raj.
The marriage is celebrated by great pomp and ceremony.Life seems all too perfect, until Raj runs into financial problems...Priya's aunt (Lillette Dubey) comes for a visit and is appalled by the conditions Priya is living in. After her visit, problems abound for Raj and Priya and eventually they decide to separate.
Will the separation lead to a divorce or will they be re-united again?

Sansa accidentului dintre maºina ºi camionul conduse de Priya Chopra (Rani Mukerjee) ºi respectiv Raj Mathur (Shah Rukh Kahn) conduce catre o adevarata legendã de iubire. Raj si Priya provin din doua tipuri de societate diferite. In timp ce Raj conduce o mica afacere de transport si apartine clasei mijlocii a societatii din punct de vedere economic, Priya apartine unei clase mai inalte in societate si se afla pe drumul de a ajunge cel mai faimos designer.Oricum Priya este logodita cu Sameer (Jas Arora). Inima ei ii spune ca Raj este adevarata dragoste si decide sa se marite cu Raj.
Mariajul este sarbatorit de o petrecere mare si o ceremonie pe masura.Totul parea perfect, pana ce Raj a ajuns intr-o situatie financiara critica...Matusa Priyei (Lillette Dubey) vine in vizita si este uimita de conditiile in care Priya traia. Dupa vizita ei, Problemele de familie abundau intre Raj si Priya si hotarasc sa se separe.
Va duce aceasta separare catre divort sau se vor uni din nou?
